- The American Consumer brain was filled with the idea that they needed what the companies were selling, and this is what the companies wanted. Their advertising tactics controlled their desires.
- Would you like to purchase this sleek hairbrush that everyone has for $100
- Their minds were so infiltrated by the need to keep consuming that they valued privatized, cheap goods over investing in the public efforts that would enhance their living situations and world. This permanently changed how consumers viewed the economy.
- Absolutely, everyone has this so I need this.
- Would you like to invest $100 in repairing the local school
- I'll pass, it's not as necessary as the $100 of potato chips I want
