- The Montagues and Capulets are two rivaling families with deep hatred for one another. Set in Verona, Italy, the main characters are Romeo, Juliet, and the Capulet and Montague families.
- Act 4: Falling Action
- Romeo and Juliet meet, fall in love, and decide to secretly get married despite their families' rivalry.
- Act 5: Resolution
- Tybalt kills Mercutio, then Romeo kills Tybalt. The Prince arrives and orders Romeo to be banished from Verona.
- O, I am fortune's fool!
- Juliet fakes her death to avoid marriage with Paris, but the letter to inform Romeo of the plan does not arrive in time. Romeo arrives at the Capulet burial ready to kill himself for love. Thinking that Juliet is dead, Romeo drinks the potion. When Juliet wakens, she ends her life as well.
- Lord Capulet and Lord Montague learn about the events involving the deaths of Romeo and Juliet and decide to reconcile and end their fued.
