What Did You Learn?

- I am so glad I had the opportunity to take my anthropology class. I learned so much about humanity and cultures in the past. Can you guess what my favorite thing to learn about was?
- I loved learning about sex and gender. To summarize, I will use my discussion post I submitted.
- I was aware of what genders are defined as well as the fact that many societies emphasize the significant functions that genders perform within their own structures. From an early age, we are taught specific gender roles based on the clothes that boys and girls should wear and the toys that are considered appropriate for each gender. I've discovered that such positions tend to fade in importance as you get older. Studying how societies come to appreciate gender differences among themselves piqued my interest. Understanding oneself and how it might benefit oneself later on is, in my opinion, something that everyone should strive to comprehend. I became aware that many societies developed based on antecedent ideas after coming to understand this idea. It was revealed to me through my study and viewing of the videos that there were certain older generations of transgender groups, in India, for example. I saw how many societies incorporated new ideals into their systems of religion in order to adapt to these changes.
