  • Brutus' speech-Ethos
  • Brutus' Speech- pathos
  • Brutus' speech-logos
  • "Believe me for mine honour, and have respect to mine honour"This is brutus's way of proving who he is and what he has done to everyone. He wants them to know that in time they will know why he did it, but for right now they are going to have to trust him and who he is. Trust will be hard for brutus to bulld with people after what he did, but he is going to have to hope they will realized why and trust his process.
  • Anthony's speech-ethos
  • "Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more."When Brutus says this it makes the people understand what he was willing to do for his city. He killed one of his best friends so that the people could remain the way they are now. This shows his emotions to the people and will help him connect with them.
  • Anthony's speech-pathos
  • "Would you prefer that Caesar was alive and you all die as slaves, or that Caesar were dead and you live as free men?"Brutus says this to get the people of the city to understand what would have happened if the crowned Caesar and that it was the right thing to do. He uses logic to get them to understand why he had to kill caesar. If Caesar had become king he would have enslaved everybody and taken away all freedoms that have had all of their lives.
  • Anthonys speech-logos
  • "Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears"When anthoney says this he want everybody to know he is talking to them as a friend and and a person of the city and not a person of higher power. By doing this it will allow the people to connect with him and understand his point of view. The people will also pay closer attention to the little thing he is trying to hint during this speech .
  • "When that the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept"Anthony is trying to get into the people emotions by telling them all of telling them what kind of man just died. He is trying to prove that it was not right of the conspirators to kill caesar. By this logic it would have been smarter to have caesar as the king because he would always help the poor because he cried for them.
  • "He hath brought many captives home to Rome Whose ransoms did the general coffers fill"Throughout Caesars time as leader he did nothing but win wars and give the people what they want according to anthony. He wants people to remember how many captives that Caesar brought home and what it did to help the roman economy grow. He is using logic to portray all of the good things caesar has done and none of the bad thing that could have happened.
