Second, everybody is shouting saying it isn't the kid, it's bob weaver's house, it isn't the weaver's house, it's don Martine's place, I tell you it's the kid'. this is a problem because everybody is yelling at each other and nobody is listening, which creates chaos. Third and finally Charlie says to Steve who do you talk to on the radio set, and who talks to you? This is showing how suspicious Charlie is of Steve, showing how he does not trust him and creates conflict. on the monsters are due on maple street the best theme for the book is fear and suspicion are destructive
