- Jeff Bezos was born 1964 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Jacklyn and Ted Jorgensen. But four years later she got divorced and remarried a Cuban immigrant, Mike Bezos. This changed Jeff's last name from Jorgensen to Bezos
- In 1986 Jeff Bezos graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
- After graduating Bezos worked for several large investment companies on Wall Street when he quit his job and moved to Seattle to start online book store.
- In 1995 Bezos created the company Amazon in his garage. Amazon started as an online company that sold books and turned out to be very popular because after 30 days books were sold all around America and forty-five foreign countries. After two months Amazon was making $20,000 a week.
- Though starting as an online book store Amazon soon started to sell cds and videos and then clothes, toys, and electronics.
- In 2017 Amazon bought the grocery store chain, Whole Foods and began offering food delivery service.
