- The zong case the zong was a slave ship the lied about saying the didn’t have enough fresh water so they decided to throw 130+ slaves into the ocean to die. Their insurance company never paid £30 per slave thrown over so the captain brought them to court (£30 then was the equivalent to £30,000 today)

- Granville sharp was an abolitionist and was a Deeply religious man and met a man named Jonathan strong when he was walking into a surgery after strong spending 4 months in a hospital sharp found him a job and lisle strings former slave owners had recognition him and sent slave hunter after him. Sharp had found out and brought him to court and won this was the first legal win against the slave trade

- Clarkson had come from a well off family and entered a essay competition and he wrote about how can they makes men slaves against the will and won , he thought it was a message from god to devote his life to the slave trade. clarkson had contacted sharp and they and 10 others had formed a society for the abolition of the slave trade

- Olaudah eqiano had experienced the slave trade first hand by being a former slave he was sold to a man named Micheal pascal and he travelled the sea for eight years. When he became interested in abolitionist slavery he join a group of 12 black men and the called themselves 'sons of Africa’
- newton was an ex slave captain he change to a priest at the Church of England he started to hate the slave trade and tried to preach the slave trade
- William was an M.P who disliked the slave trade very much an presented a bill every year (a new law) for 18 years
