  • Hi! Welcome to my story of the horrible day the Tulsa Massacre took my Dads store - I was at home that night having a drink with my mom. We where listening to some new jazz music that came out, I think it was by L. Armstrong. She says that its new music and that we should be proud as it is part of the Harlem Renaissance where people started appreciating black culture Then we heard a loud crash coming from the middle of town
  • BAM BAM BAM! gunshots are ringing through town. My mom rushes to the window and looks out. She says to hide under a table because the white people are coming. I did not understand so I did not move. It's stupid that I have to stop dancing because I am in my home and the white people are not allowed in unless I say so. He came in anyways which was rude!
  • My mom said that the boy getting arrested was a short term cause of racial tensions as this day would only last a little bit. She said that the long term causes where like the Jim Crow laws and the racial injustice that people with a different skin color than white still have.

  • My Grandpa worked his whole life, parts of as a slave to be able to scape up the money to buy a store. Now my dad owns the store, but during the fight some man burned it down. Mom says that these fights look the same as around the U.S. People fight against each other even though they don't need too.

Some of the things are bad, like how Black people still cannot get loans from the bank for houses. However there are good things including new job offerings and better economic stability. This is especially good after having to go through the Great Depression.
  • Over time, all races of people have become more and more equal in the United States. In the recent 2000s, there was a development of rap that came from races other than white, foods spread across America from all races and more equality is being spread including the BLM aka the Black Lives Matter Movement spreading more equality. According to a New York Times Article more than 40% of U.S countries have had at least 1 protest
