  • As Lyddie walks into the cabin, she meets Ezekiel, a black salve, hiding out. She has a struggle with herself whether to turn him or not. This scene shows a conflict of Person v.s Self because she is struggling with herself whether to turn him or not not. She has been taught that black slaves are not bad, but Ezekiel was the complete opposite so she decides not to turn him in, despite the amount of money she would get.
  • Amelia and Lyddie argue as Amelia wanted Lyddie to go on a walk with her bt Lyddie wanted to read Oliver Twist. This scene shows a conflict of Person v.s Person because both Amelia and Lyddie are struggling. Lyddie wants to read Oliver Twist again and not go out while Amelia wants Lyddie wants Lyddie to come outside and in her in a walk instead of reading a bad book inside 
  • When Lyddie came home, she has to survive the long cold winter wear with lack of resources. This scene shows Person v.s Nature because Lyddie was struggling with the nature in this case the winter season. Lyddie had to adapt and try to get though the winter by using what she has such as shooting rabbit and peeling bark to replace her loss of other supplies.
