  • Laertes his saying his final words to his sister before he leaves to go back to France. He does not want Ophelia to be with hamlet. This shows her internal conflict because she is in-love with hamlet. (She feels broken becasue she cannot be with the man she wants)
  • Act 3 scene 1
  • "I did love you once""Get thee nunnery. "Why wouldst thou be a breeder of sinners?"
  • After Laertes has told Ophelia he doesn't want her to sleep with hamlet. She question Laertes if he doesn't believe that she can do it. He furthers go one and tells Ophelia that Hamlet will break her heart and needs to become careful because he doesn't trust Hamlet.
  • Act 3- Scene 1
  • After Laertes leaves for France Polonius asks Ophelia what her brother said to her. He also thinks that Ophelia should not be with hamlet. He doesn't want her to believe that hamlet genuinely loves her.
  • Act 3 - Scene 2
  • "No, my lord"
  • "Shall I lie in your lap?"
  • Hamlet confuses he does not love her because he does not trust her anymore since she lied about what she was up to. This shows her -internal conflict because she loves him but due to her father's reputation she cannot love the man she wants.
  • Ophelia is heartbroken by the words hamlet has said to her. 
  • " And I, of ladies most deject and wretched, that sucked the honey of his musicked vows.."
  • Hamlet makes sexual jokes making Ophelia more confused. Make it seem like they slept with each other. (Internal conflict because she wants to look like an innocent obedient daughter.)
