  • But we need to keep quiet because who knows the consequences
  • Rising Action
  • I wonder who's gonna win
  • Something tells me that someone in the Graves family is gonna be the winner
  • June 27th was a clear, sunny day, flowers blooming, and green grass all around. At 10 am, people began to gather in the town square. Children came first and began to chatter about school. Some boys were making piles of stones as some of the girls glanced over their shoulders to look at them. The women were gossiping and the men were congregating.
  • Climax
  • Character v.s society. Some of those in the town insist on continuing the tradition and the ones who don't still stay quiet. This 'tradition' ends an innocent persons life every year.
  • Falling Action
  • POST OFFICE
  • Hush fell into the crowd as Mr. Summers began to call names. Men came forward to draw slips from the black box. As family names were called chatter arises
  • Resolution
  • The Graves family, a family of 5, drew their slips. Tessie, one of the children, got the slip with a black dot on it. She was declared 'the winner'
  •
  • Tessie is now in the middle of the square and everyone was either grabbing, or already had stones in their hands. 'This isn't fair' Tessie yells as a stone hits the side of her head. Tessie suffers a painful and brutal death
  • PLEASE! This isn't fair!
  • The town and people return to thier normal lives again. As if nothing ever happen.
