- Stella has been through some horrible things when younger.After Hearing about kennedy's nightmare, Stella couldn't help but to think of her nightmares."Her Nightmares were always the same, white men grabbing her ankles and dragging her screaming out the bed(Bennett 169). Stella's past still haunts her even though she has grown up. these nightmares keep stella on guard even though there's nothing to worry about
