- Maya, her mom, her dad, and her aunt Madina lived in Kazakhstan, until Bob Campbell brought aunt Madina to the U.S, and later on Maya and her parents cameto the U.S as well. Conflict is that Maya does not know if her parents will sign the dance's permission slip
