- The US wanted to expand their country and so they decided to buy it from the poor France which desperately needed money. After we bought the land for $15 million America doubled in size.
- This Land is Amazing!
- Lewis And Clark
- Lewis and Clark traveled through Kansas and said it was beautiful and very useful land
- This Place could be very useful
- This Place is a desert no one can ever put this to use!
- Zebulon Pike
- Zebulon Pike explored Kansas and described it as a useless desert
- That Zebulon guy was right this place isn't useful at all
- Stephen H. Long
- Stephen H. Long traveled through Kansas by steamboat and agreed with Zebulon by nicknaming it "The Great American Desert"
- The land the the indians currently occupy is good land and those savagesaren't putting it to use. We are going to move the Indians into the new land that has been deemed useless so we can expand our country
- Andrew Jackson's Speech
- after the speech the Indians were kicked out of their own land and forced to move westward.
- Indian Removal Act
- The Government said to expand west and to move you guys to our brand new territory so that means you guys have to leave
