Daniel's Story Chapter 5

- At the beginning of the chapter, Daniel is on another train car being transported to somewhere unknown looking at some of the pictures he had taken with him, some of them being hidden and Lodz. . In the car, over 100 Jews were all miserable.  
- Daniel has a flashback from when he and his family arrived at the Ghetto. He remembers seeing and smelling death everywhere. Dead people lying on the streets many of the being starved to death.  
- Mean while things in the streets are getting worse. Children are being taken from their parents and taken to death camps where they are shot and killed.  
- Oma Rachel fell ill from starvation. She had been secretly giving her rations to the rest of the family. She had gotten so ill she was sent to the hospital. Soon after she arrived the hospital was being evacuated and Oma had put on a white gown and a doctor's mask pretending to be a doctor and she escaped and went back to the apartment. 
- unfortunately, all kids under the age of ten were being taken to a death camp, and old people were sent to death camps as well. Aunt Leah's two daughters had been sent to the trucks and she had ran towards them and the three of the were shot and killed. Leah's daughter Mia had ran after them and she was sent to the trucks. 
- After they had gotten back to the apartment they had found the other two children and all hugged and cried and they told Friedrich that he was now an orphan.
