- Around when I was 5 or 6, my grandma got sick.

- The first memory I have of realizing something was wrong is going into what looked like a hospital to visit my grandma with my parents and little sister. But I wasn't sure if it was because it was so nice inside.
- Hello.
- She looks so different.....
- Hey Mom.
- She was always in her garden or cooking in the kitchen or spending time with us. It was so weird to see her so weak and sad. I didn't even realize at that time that she had breast cancer. And she could die.
- Later on, I remember looking on my aunt’s phone (my grandma’s daughter) and seeing a picture of my grandma was on oxygen and bald.
- I was really surprised. I had never seen anyone so worn and sick. I was overwhelmed with sadness and fear. Still then, I didn’t know exactly what she had.
- She looks like she's suffering.
- And as time went on, her hair grew back, it was short and darker and looked different but she was herself again. I didn’t know when she had gotten better but I just remember seeing her hair grow back and seeing her grow back into who she was.
