- Hidayah
- Hidayah had just arrived in New York and would be studying there.
- A few months later, the Summer Holidays had begun... Hidayah is seen sitting on the bed when her phone suddenly rings.
- Over the phone, a conversation is taking place between Hidayah and her father.
- What's the point of a holiday if you stay indoors?
- It's very cold here Abah.
- Hidayah tries to dissuade her parents from coming to New York and visit her, but to no avail.
- Great news Hidayah! Your mum and I are coming over to see how you are doing!
- You sound like you don't want us to come and see you.
- Then we will just stay indoors too when we get there!
- Hidayah sat on her bed, pondering over the conversation that she just had with her parents.
- At least there is accommodation for them and they don't have to stay in hotel.
- Perhaps it's because I have already planned my summer itinerary...
- Afterall, my housemate is spending her summer back in Hong Kong and she even offered to pay half my rent for a whole four months...
- Why did I resist so strongly against my parents visit?
- In her class for example, Hidayah often struggled to describe herself to others. Her classmates assumed she her religion. This caused her to feel upset and disappointed.
- Huh? We thought you were Filipino?
- Aren't you Latino?
- It is clear that Hidayah's classmates have once again misunderstood where she was from.
- I am from Singapore.
- Oh, I see!
- You must be from China then!
