  • Is school a struggle for you? Feeling unmotivated? If you said yes to either of these, you may want to find out how to become an academic weapon.
  • Before we even step foot into the class room, we need to talk about the most important things in life. Sleep. Not just any sleep, but GOOD sleep. Scientsits reccomend that individuals should receive 8-10 hours of sleep at night. Scientists and research has shown that there is a huge differential in the numbers of how students perform when given a a nights rest of 8 hours versus 6 hours
  • Get GOOD Sleep!Sleep is used before and after (retaining information from the day you've had, AND preparing your brain for the information you will learn the following day

  • Show up to class physically and mentally. It is important to make it into the classroom, but once you are there it is important to be there mentally as well and actually take in the information. Attendance is more than your butt in the seat. Sit up straight in your chair, put your phone away and position your body towards the speaker
  • Although the 8 hours is the most important, it is also important to try to go to sleep and wake up around the same time everynight is possible and trying to stick to a routine as we talk about in our next box.
  • Having a routine is not as daunting as it sounds. It can be as easy as setting time aside for friends along with time for work. Too much of anything can be bad whether its too much social life or too much work.
  • Create a Routine.As we mentioned briefly, it is important to have a routine. Staying on routine helps you keep track of things and to make it harder to forget things throought your day, to-do lists are very useful. You can write out each class you have then proceed to list the assignments under their respective categories. Once done with an assignment, you can check it off or remove it from the list and tests and scientists have shown that this releases hormones called dopamine which makes the individual feel better about completing said task.
  • Work loads can catch up to you quick and can be a lot to handle. Breaks are great to ensure that you get your tasks done stress free.
  • Give your self a break!It is important to give yourself breaks throughout the day of your routine whether it be taking a walk, catching up on your favorite show, or even taking a nap.
  • BELIEVE YOU CAN DO IT!!Having a great mindset if s huge part of sucess and it starts with you believing because if you are not confident in the work you put out and the answers you give, and do not put trust in yourself, then who will?
  • Schools know that it is hard transitioning from High School to College and for the most part know exactly how to help you, all you have to to is have the confidence in yourself to first take that steo and reach out and ask.
  • utilize the university resources because they truly are there for you to use and benefit from
