- in the beggining of the story you learn about Ada who has a clubbed foot. her mother (mam) is also very uneccepting and abusive to her. Ada also has a little brother Jamie.
- climax
- Ada and Jamie run away with the evacuees, and are put in a home with a lady named susan.
- falling action
- mam finds Ada and Jamie and takes them back home.
- resolution
- Ada and Jamie are running from Mam in the streets while there is bombing.
- susan finds Jamie and Ada and they get away from the town.
- Ada, Susan, and Jamie all go home and are safe.
