- 2. revolution begins and a national assembly, 1789
- 3. constitutional monarchy, 1789-1792
- once upon a time, the estates general was an assembly representing the french estates of the realm summoned by louis xvl to propose solutions to frances financial problems, it had finally ended when the third estate formed into a national assembly, signaling the outbreak of the french revolution.
- 4. first french republic & the reign of terror, 1792-1795
- then, the national assembly was the first revolutionary government of the french revolution that had then existed from june 14 through july 9. the national assembly was created almost the turmoil of the estates general that louis xvl called in 1789 to deal with the looming economic crisis in France.
- 5. napoleon & french empire, 1799-1814
- next, the constitutional monarchy was a system of government that was ruled by a king or queen whose power is limited by its countries constitution. the political power is shared between the monarch, the constitutional government such as parliament. the type of monarchy is different from an absolute monarchy.
- 6. congress of vienna & peace, 1814-1815
- after, their was the french revolution that was a period of major social upheaval that began in 1787 and ended in 1799. it sought to completely change the relationship between the rulers and those they governed and to redefine the nature of political power.
- therefore, napoleon was a french military general. the first emperor of france and one of the world's greatest military leaders, napoleon revolutionized military organization and training. at the end, they reorganized education and established the long-lived concordat with the papacy.
- finally, the objective of the congress was to provide a long term peace plan for Europe by settling critical issues arising from the french revolutionary wars and the napoleonic wars, the goal was to not simply restore old boundaries but to resize the main powers so they could balance each other and stay at peace.
