  • The second step is the metaphase , which is when centriole pairs move to opposite ends of the cell with chromosomes in the middle. This step is followed by the anaphase which is when DNA is split apart. The outcome of Anaphase is DNA ends up on opposite cell poles.
  • Oh don't worry sweetheart cell division is good! Without it we would die.
  • What do you mean her cells are dividing?
  • Alright Ma'am the baby looks great and your cells are dividing just fine!
  • Cell division starts with the interphase which is when cells are doing cell like things.
  • Cell division takes place in a process called Mitosis. The first stage of this process is the prophase in which the nuclear membrane disappears and chromosomes become visible and pairs of centrioles start to separate.
  • The next step is the telophase. During this phase the nuclear membrane forms around the two new sets of chromosomes. Chromosomes start to uncoil. The spindle fibers from the metaphase disappears and the cell starts to make a furrow in the middle that will eventually lead to cytokinesis.
  • Oh don't worry sweetheart cell division is good! Without it we would die.
  • During cytokinesis divides the organelles and other substances in the cytoplasm into two equal pieces, which gives us two identical cells. And the daughter cell is genetically identical to the parent cell.
  • Thank you I learned a lot about cell division today!
  • If something goes wrong in the cell cycle it could lead to cancer. And eventually all your cells die.
  • Checkpoints to prevent mistakes include keeping the cells filled with nutrients, replacing damaged cells, DNA within the nucleus needs to be replicated.
