- Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington. His parents were Bill Gates Sr and Mary Maxwell Gates. His siblings are Libby Gates and Kristi Gates.

- In 1967, Bill Gates went to Lakeside high school. It was an all boy's school. Here, he met Paul Allen who would be his future bushiness partners. He spent lots of time in the computer lab. Here, he started experimented with the coding program BASIC. He soon started a failed company with the help of Paul Allen but it soon failed. He learned valuable experience from that and soon he would use that to found Microsoft.
- In 1973, Paul Allen, Bill Gates partner presented a program made of BASIC to MITS executives. Bill Gates spent weeks working on the program and this meeting decided his fate. Luckily for him, when the computer got asked 2 + 2, it answered 4. Bill Gates programmed succeeded and he got an executive licensing deal with MITS worked out over the software.
- Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded Microsoft soon after the meeting with MITS. Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard to help the company full time. He made an agreement with Apple a few months after the company was created to put the Microsoft Basic 6502 into every Apple computer. Eventually, the office was moved to Seattle. They even opened another office in Southern Japan. This set Microsoft up for the international market.
- In 1985, Microsoft had over 1000 employees and $140,000,000 in sales. The headquarters was moved to a massive 270 acre campus. Bill Gates encourage his employees to take 80 hour work weeks. He made them work hard. In 1986, the company went public.Microsoft raised $61,000,000 by the closing bell. Bill Gates became a multimillionaire overnight.
- Bill Gates soon became famous. Paul Allen sold his shares of Microsoft but Bill Gates kept his. He met many famous people and in 1996, he became a billionaire. He bought many houses and had an interest in art. He is known to spend a lot of money on stuff. In 1994, his wedding with his wife Melinda French, a marketing executive in Microsoft, cost a million dollars. Soon, Microsoft went to the hardware bushiness. They started making computers and made the revolutionary Windows 95. His company continued to grow and invest into new technology as Bill Gates lives his peaceful life. He is the third richest person in the world now. He donated billions to charity and when he dies, he will certainly have an amazing legacy.
