  • Freyja the Goddess of love, fertility, battle, and death.
  • Who was Freyja
  • Freyja, most renowned of the Norse goddesses, who was the sister and female counterpart of Freyr(the ruler of peace and fertility, rain, and sunshine) and was in charge of love, fertility, battle, and death. Her father was Njörd, the sea god. Pigs were sacred to her, and she rode a boar with golden bristles.
  • --- Freyr
  • What was Freyja's power: Freyja, like all Asgardian gods, is near immortal and resistant to disease and illness. She has superhuman strength, endurance, durability and can speak in the languages of the Ten Realms. But unlike other Asgardians, Freyja can wield powerful magic.
  • What was freyja's symbol: The pig was an important symbol of the Vanir and sacrificial practices associated with the group, particularly in association with Freyja and her brother Freyr.
  • Most important myth: She possessed a famous necklace called Brísinga men, which the trickster god Loki stole and Heimdall, the gods' watchman, recovered. Greedy and lascivious, Freyja was also credited with the evil act of teaching witchcraft to the Aesir (a tribe of gods).
