This a basic short summary of what happens in the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare

- Macbeth meets the 3 witches. They tell him he'll be Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor and King. Macbeth was already Thane of Glamis.
- As soon as he gets back to the castle, Macbeth is told he's the new Thane of Cawdor. (The old one was a traitor)
- You are Thane of Cawdor!
- What shall I write?
- Macbeth writes a letter to his wife
- He's too scared to kill the King so I'll make sure he does!
- He is contemplating killing the king but is having second thoughts
- Do you think I should? It's bad isn't it?
- If the witch's prophecy is true, go and kill him!
- Hmm...
- Everybody had a party because Macbeth was Thain of Cawdor. Then, everyone fell asleep because they were drunk. Macbeth decided to kill King Duncan...
- ... While lady Macbeth threw his blood on a servant so it looked like the servant did it.
- In the morning, a servant walked in and saw Duncan dead. They believed it was the other servant because they were covered in blood.
- Arrgh! What happened to the King???
- Wait! It was you! You have blood on your chest!
- No! It wasn't! Honest!
- What happened?
