  • Before the war, a women's main job was to take care of children. Most women didn't work, but instead depended on husbands or fathers to provide for them.

  • The Woman's Christian Temperance Union used their new found influence to convince the government to ban all sale and consumption of alcohol. According to them it led to: wife and child abuse, poverty, and many other things.
  • In the 1921 election Agnes Macphail won her riding in Ontario to become Canada's first female Member of Parliament. She was later appointed to Senate, but passed away before it was fulfilled.
