- The British and First Nations (Brock and Tecumseh) came to Fort Detroit with 400 soldiers and 600 warriors, prepared to fight Geral Hull and his force of 2500+ soldiers. Brock saw that Hull had the upper hand so he started making commotion outside the fort, trying to scare the Americans. Hull knew that there were many accidents at Fort Dearborn, and was scared for his soldiers and their families, so he surrendered.

- -In October 1812, American troops rowed across the Niagara River from New York to Upper Canada. They got on high ground as the British were firing at the river. General Brock came with a group to push the Americans back, he succeeded (won the battle) and was able to advance, but was sadly shot and killed.

- In April 1813, 14 American ships of 1700 soldiers sailed across Lake Ontario and defeated a small garrison of British troops (York) They stayed for a couple of days, burned down the town, and sailed back.
- On June 6, 1813, American forces invaded Upper Canada,(Stoney Creek) several British regiments tried attacking the greater American force at night as a surprise. They didn’t fully succeed, this is because of the dark, which caused the British to miss the main American camp. Many soldiers from both sides died, and the Americans retreated to their side of the Niagra River.
- On July 25, 1814, a force of 1500 Americans (General Scott) attacked a British force of 1700, both sides lost 800+ men, and the Americans retreated.
- In response to the Americans burning down the towns in Upper Canada had payback. In August 1814, British forces attacked and burned the White House and destroyed other government buildings as well.
