  • Proclamation of 1763
  • GET OUT OF MY LAND! YOU HAVE KILED TOO MANY OF MY KIND! I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANYMORE FIGHTING!
  • No! I have a settlement here! I'm not gonna move! If I do, I won't be able to farm anything!
  • The proclamation of 1763 states that you have to stay East of the border! Not following orders will lead to punishment!
  • We fought for this land in the war! Why should we give it up? She doesn't deserve to be here! I hate Parliament!
  • The Stamp Act
  • Another tax!? On paper!? We should boycott everything paper. That way we'll show Parliament what we can do and they'll repeal it!
  • We have to buy a stamp for every piece of paper? This is outrageous! I'm paying enough money as it is! I'm going to be broke at the end of 1765.
  • STAMP ACTFor every piece of paper you buy, you will have to buy a stamp to prove you payed you taxes on it!
  • Oh, this is wonderful! Britain's going to make more money, and we get to tax you ungrateful Americans more! Boy, do I love this stamp act!
  • This is taxation without representation! We should have a say in Parliament! Although they're violent, I like those Sons of liberty. At least they're taking action.
  • The Quartering Act
  • You guys do nothing but stand around. You don't deserve anything, despite what Parliament said.
  • It would be best if you guys agreed...or you won't live to see more of 1765
  • You will NEVER come into my house! You have no right at all, you filthy redcoats! And for free? You're bloody mental!
  • Ma'am, we can and we will. The Quartering act states that us redcoats can choose any house we fancy.
  • And you have to feed us, wash all of our things, give us beds, and more! Isn't it great?
  • Since there was so much killing between Americans and native Indians, the British king told ordered that a line was drawn on the crest of the Appalachian Mountains, and that the settlers stay east of it. The settlers didn’t like this, because they already had people to the west, and the west was the only place farmers could find available land.
  • The Townshend Acts
  • Just American made paint today, Carl
  • Paint
  • Tea
  • Paper
  • What can I get for you ma'am?
  • No tea?
  • Since Americans were the most lightly taxed, George Grenville decided that for every piece of paper you buy, whether it is playing cards, or newspapers, the people would have to buy a stamp for it. This enraged colonists because they had no voice in Parliament, so they called this "Taxation without representation".
  • Boston Massacre
  • You're throwing rocks and ice balls at us! We will shoot if you don't back down!
  • You Boston Patriots are the most annoying of the colonist!
  • Parliament passed this law in 1765 that required the colonials to house, feed, clothe, and provide all the services needed to whatever soldier wanted it. Soldiers could pick any house they wanted, and the people would be forced to then live in the basement or a side room, to leave the soldiers with the house, the biggest and comfiest part.
  • The Boston Tea Party
  • Hey, you! Stop dumping all our tea! You will be punished for this!
  • Britain really thinks that they can put such a small tax on tea so we can save their company and we wont notice. This tea act is just giving us motivation to waster their money!
  • There's a British ship over there, but their not coming over and stopping us!
  • A British army in America was not cheap for Britain, so to pay for it, "Champagne Charlie", or Charles Townshend promised to pass a tax on popular goods to pay for it. This obviously angered Americans, and while some fought back violently, others found a way to protest more peacefully. They would boycott, or not buy these goods, to not give the British any money. Since the women were the ones who did all the shopping, they were the ones boycotting.
  • We got Sam Adams letter. We need to boycott all those things. Plus, the tea I make from pine needles is tea-licous!
  • Nope. In fact, I won't be buying anymore tea in 1767.
  • How come?
  • No! You will buy tea! The The Townshend acts are to afford the British army we keep here for you guys! Paying an extra tax is nothing! I can't believe how ungrateful Americans are!
  • With tensions high because of the Townshend acts, an angry mob started a riot, and were throwing rocks and ice balls at the British soldiers. The British soldiers were so fed up, that they fired on the mob. Paul Revere later named this the Boston Massacre, because the mob was "unarmed".
  • Lobsterbacks! You have no right to shoot on us! We're unarmed!
  • SHOOT US IF YOU DARE! IF YOU DO IT WILL BE A MASSACRE. A BOSTON MASSACRE!
  • Attucks! Its only 1770, you're so young!
  • Since Americans were boycotting British tea, and drinking smuggled Dutch tea, the British East India Company was in trouble. They controlled the trade between Great Britain, but were going to collapse soon if they couldn't sell the 17 million pounds of tea sitting in their warehouses. The tea act, proposed by Lord North to save the company, made this tea so cheap, it cost even less than smuggled Dutch tea. It also gave the British East India Company control over who bought their tea. The colonists were not fooled by the cheap tea, and continued to boycott it. The company's boats sailed into American ports, but angry protestors wouldn't let them unload their cargo. Bostons governor ordered that the ships didn't leave until the tea was unloaded. The 16th of December, 1773, 60 men dressed as Mohawks dumped the tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • This tea act scares me! It shows how easily the East India Company can monopolize a good if it wants to, and that it can also select its merchants! Plus, cheaper tea means less money in sales! 1773 will not end well.
