- In the beginning, Alex gets drunk and drives and crashes his mothers car. Then he reuns over a lawn nome. Alex throws up on the officers shoes and then ALex goes to the hospital to get his scratches and hurt bones better.

- Officer, sir, did I - is he - is - ummm... I could feel the rears welling up. My eyes burned, nd the next wave of acid was coming up my throat in a a hurry.
- He probably thought you would prefer human service time to jail time. And he knew how much I HATE drunk driving.
- Alex has to go to court with his mom and the judges name is judge Judy. Judge Judy used to be a lawyer but is now a judge. She hates drunk drivers and sentences Alex to earn enough money to pay off his neighbor's lawn nome and has to work at a retirement home
- This is so STUPID. I'm not a criminal. I didn't hurt anybody! I broke a lawn gnome. A LAWN GNOME!!!
- Alex goes to the nursing home for the first time to be surprised by a very grumpy Solomen Lewis who is his assignment from Judge Judy Trent. Alex finds out that Soloman lost his wife in a drunk driving car accident and the only reason that she got in that accident was that their daughter was in the hospital and Sol refused to go because he was in the middle of a concert and now his daughter will not talk to him.
- So, Alex, they send me here to be nursed, and you they send here to keep me out of the nurses hair. Do you know what my grandmother would have said about this cockmamie situation?
- Umm, Mr. Lewis, my name is Alex Gregory. I'm a high school student, and I'll be spending about ten hours here with you every week until...well, for a while.
- Laurie, Alex's best friend kind of watches Alex and this is on New Years eve where later that night, his parents come home even though they were divorced and they apparently are back together. Alex and Laurie go to prom together and find out Sol has pnomia
- Sol and Alex have a concert together when Alex finds out that Sol used to play the guitar too and Steven and Anett are there too. Judge Trent came too.
- We find out in the end that Judge Judy Trent is Sols daughter and they have a reunion. In the end Sol dies but it added to the story in a very effective way.
