  • Welcome to Mohenjo-Daro! Mohenjo-Daro is located in India and is close to the Indus river. This was around 2500-1500 BC.
  • Welcome to Mohenjo-Daro!!!
  • To make the bricks they first had to place mud in square blocks and let them dry.
  • Homes in the Indus Valley were made from strong mud bricks.
  • And their homes were their own workshops and most of the time where they made their livings.
  • The bathrooms weren't this nice in Mohenjo-Daro. The showers were just a tray you'd stand on while you poured clean water on you.
  • The tray did empty out into their sewer system, it emptied out into pipe that went throughout the city.
  • One of the rooms along the bath has a well that supplies the bath with water.
  • The Great Bath is 39 feet long and 8 feet deep. Some archeologists think it was used for spiritual rituals because bathing is important to Hinduism.
  • During the time of Mohenjo-Daro, people pressed Seals into clay, let it dry, then attached it to something they owned to say they owned it, if they were selling it the price of it, or to give a good description of the item.
  • People traded with others in Mohenjo-Daro. Some people came from different civilizations to trade with the Indus people.
  • Instead of money they traded goods for other goods. Like crops.
