- Hi! My name is Lamar and I will be helping you! My job as a medical consultant is to help you find the treatment to your disease. Anyway Can you please tell me some of the activities you've been doing? And also how often you wash your things. And do you do any rough sports?
- Hi Lamar! My name is Maya. I would usually wash my bedding once every few weeks, and I like to play sports but I get a lot of cuts and usually I don't clean them I just put a bandage. Oh and I usually visit public parks and sit down on the benches with shorts on.
- The most common way to get staphylococcus is through dirty things. Or, thing that are just not clean in general. And I am pretty sure while you were telling me some of your activities and things you do in a day aren't necessarily the cleanest habits ever. But another question I have is can you tell me some of your symptoms?
- Well, I have a fever, I had sore, red eyelids, swollen skin and red bumps on my skin. Oh, and boils as well. What type of treatment could help me?
- Hydrogen peroxide kills Staphylococcus aureus by reacting with staphylococcus iron from hydroxyl radical. But that is only for very severe cases. Since, your case isn't that severe or hasn't reached that level I will just prescribe you with an anti-biotic
- Alright, alright. But I have 2 more questions. First, how can I prevent the disease? And how can we prevent an outbreak from happening?
- Some ways to prevent staphylococcus is to not share any personal items, and keep clean, oh and keep wounds covered! To prevent an outbreak we all must take action! First start by washing bedding at least once a week, after you wear your clothes wash them to get rid of all bacteria that might be stuck to your clothes.
