  • Judas, one of Jesus' disciples, betrayed him to the Romans. Judas told the Romans where Jesus would be, and whilst Jesus was praying in a garden, he was arrested.
  • Jesus was sentenced to death and was forced to carry a part of the cross through the streets and wear a crown of thorns . Whilst Jesus was walking through the streets some people called him a traitor, and some said that he was innocent. A man named Simon wanted to help Jesus and helped him carry the cross.
  • He is calling upon the prophet Elijah.
  • Jesus was taken to a place called Golgotha where he was crucified with two other criminals. Jesus said to God "Sire forgive them, for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34)
  • When Jesus was being crucified, Jesus' mother, Mary, and a woman named Mary Magdalene saw him on the cross.
  • The Jewish leaders also came to see Jesus, and they thought that he was calling upon the prophet Elijah, when Jesus was actually calling upon God (Mark 15:35).
  • Just before Jesus died he said "It is done", and when Jesus died the curtain in the temple was torn in two (Matthew 27:51)
