- Ruby Bridges  was born on 9.8.1954 in Tylertown Mississippi and later moved to New Orleans
- Ruby Bridges has 4 siblings; 3 brothers and 1 sister. One of her brothers (Malcom) was killed in a drug related accident
- Ruby started going to the previous all white elementary school named William Frantx Elementary School on November 14 1960 or when Ruby was 6 years old
- Right away people didn't like the idea of a black person going to an all white school, so right away she started facing discrimination and racism
- The discrimination got so bad that federal marshals had to start escorting Ruby and her mom to the school
- haha! Imagine being black!
- People started pulling their kids from school because of Ruby, but later realized that their kids needed an education and brought them back. They gradually started accepting the fact that there was an African-American attending their school
