  • The Bubonic Plague
  • The Bubonic Plague was a deadly disease in the 14th century. If you got the disease you had little chance of surviving and would usually die within a few days of having it. Their ways to treat this disease bu usually the ways that would lead patients to an even worse condition due to plague doctors using leeches to suck out their blood.

  • Education
  •  Most schooling during the middle ages took place in monasteries, convents, and cathedrals. This pattern was developed by Charlemagne. He encouraged schools to teach kids how to read and write. Most of the people in these schools were sons of nobles. In the 13th century, they started to learn things such as math, music, and Latin grammar.

  • Music and enitanment
  • Town life in the 14 century was difficult for the people that worked hard but this does not mean that they did not have leisure activities. Some of these activities we still do today for example playing checkers, playing with wooden swords, and played bad mitten. There was also entertainment at fairs including jugglers, clowns, and dancers. Minstrels performed songs, recited poetry, and played instruments such as the har at fairs

  • 100 year war
  • The hundred years war started in 1337 and ended in 1453. This war was caused because English monarchs had long claimed land in France that they had a disagreement on so war brook out and at the beginning the English were winning but in the end due to the help France got from Joan of Ark they were won the war.

  • Crime and punshment
  • Theifs were ramped in medieval towns and always on the lookout for their next victim. Towns were dangerous at night due to no street lights. Once a thief was found they would be taken to court and be tried in front of a judge. The thief then would get different bad punishments such as hanging burning at the stake and being left in an uncomfy wooden frame with head and arm holes cut out of it.

  • Magna carta
  • The Magna Carta is a written form written and signed in June of 1215. This document made life fairer for the nobles due to courts not letting nobles have a fair chance of proving themselves right. Before the manga carta nobles had really no fair shot in court due to this people that were sometimes not even guilty suffered from the punishments that the court would give them.
