  • If it wasn't for Ms. Baker 'making' me read Shakespeare, my date with Meryl Lee wouldn't have gone so well when we went to see Romeo and Juliet. Maybe, she doesn't hate me?
  • February: Holling and Meryl Lee go on a date to Woolworth and to see Romeo and Juliet. Holling was worried that Meryl Lee would think he's a cheapskate. Mrs. Baker advises him, "It's not how much you spend on a lady...it's how much you give her of yourself."
  • Holling's drawing of his dad's model of the Jr High is fabulous. I can't wait to show it to my dad!
  • Ms. Baker I didn't know you were a XVI Olympiad in Blebourne in 1936. WOW! Thanks for teaching me to be a better runner.
  • March: Ms. Baker gives Holling running tips to improve his form to tryout and make the Cross Country team. Holling gives Ms. Baker teaching tips like don't roll her eyes and say something in code when someone does good like "Azalea" or Chrysanthemum."

  • May: Ms. Baker takes Holling on a field trip around New York to see the different historical buildings because she believes he is a promising architect.
  • Look, Holling at the architectual history of the Empire State buidling. You would make a great architect, you have a good eye for design.
