  • No! Don't clean it!
  • Clean your room!
  • How Adler Sees Me

  • Freud is responsible for many theories in the psychoanalytic sector of psychology. One of these theories was the ideas of ego, superego, and id. The ego is essentially reality, superego represents the conscience/moral principles, and id would revolve around urges and desires. Some view the id as the "devil on your shoulder" and the superego as the "angel on your shoulder" with the ego being your reality.

  • Karen Horney emphasized the idea of social interactions and "womb envy" in her studies. She believed that we feel most helpless, anxious, and lost around the issue of getting enough love. • Carl Rogers is a theorist that studied humanistic theories of personality. He stated that there were three conditions that facilitates one's growth and they include genuineness, unconditional pleasure, and empathy. • Costa and McCrae discovered the theory of the Five Factor method that is believed to be observable at young ages and carries on with a person throughout their adulthood. The Five Factor method consists of five traits including open, conscientious, extrovert, agreeable, and neurotic. In a situation where I would be stranded on a beach, I believe that I would be the open person who is very curious about my surroundings.
  • Bandura is responsible for many theories under the Social-Cognitive aspect of psychology, one of which is the spotlight effect. This is when you assume that everyone has their attention focused on you. When I had a hole in my leggings at school one day, I was extremely embarrassed and thought that everyone was staring at me.
