  • Damascus
  • Who are you, sir?
  • Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?
  • Go lay your hands on Saul and he will regain his sight.
  • But I have heard evil things about this man!
  • "Saul, my brother, the Lord has sent me, Jesus who appeared to you on the way by which you came, that you may regain your sight and be filled with the holy Spirit."
  • On Saul's Journey to Damascus, to bring followers of Christ back to the High Priest, a light surrounded him and he heard a voice. He then fell to his knees and was blind for the next 3 days.
  • "Is not this the man who in Jerusalem ravaged those who call upon this name, and came here expressly to take them back in chains to the chief priests?"
  • Jesus is the Son of God!
  • Then a disciple in Damascus, named Ananias, had a vision and the Lord told him to go lay his hands on Saul. He was skeptical at first but ultimately obeyed the Lord. The Lord told him that Saul was his "chosen vessel".
  • Careful!
  • Shhh I know!
  • Thank you!
  • So Ananias went and found Saul and laid his hands upon his head. Once he did so, scale like things fell from Saul's eyes and he could see. He then went and ate and regained his strength. Later that day he was baptized.
  • Listen, I have heard of all the preaching he did, he has changed!
  • We don't trust you!
  • Saul stayed in Damascus for a few days preaching. He had changed so much that the people couldn't believe he was the same person. He grew to become a very great preacher.
  • After Saul preached for a while, the Jews conspired to kill him. To leave the city other disciples helped and lowered him over the wall in a basket to escape.
  • Once Saul got to Jerusalem he tried to join the apostles, but they didn't trust him due to his reputation. Eventually Barnabas vouched for him because he knew of all the preaching Saul did in Damascus. Then he traveled with the apostles and preached, but he was still being hunted by the Hellenists.
