- There was a guy named Matthew Poncelet who was found guilty of murder. He was given the death penalty as his punishment. Sister Helen wanted to help him and reassure him that someone in the world cared for him. When they met he denied the crime he was found guilty for and brushed her off like she did not care about him because he was a criminal. But she did care because this is her vocation.
- I did not do this. Go away.
- I am here to help you.
- You are going to be okay. I believe in you.
- She would visit him often and everytime she went he would open up more and more seeing the goodness inside of her. This was her passion, it was God calling her to help people like Matthew to see the goodness not just inside of his heart but the goodness inside of others.
- Thank you sister. I hope that my family is okay.
- On the day that Matthew died there was an audience of the parents of the victims that had died, the policemen, and Sister Helen. Before Matthew died Helen and him made a promise that she would keep checking in on his family. Sister Helen promised then watched him pass away. She kept this promise because taking care of people who need support is what she is called to do. Her heart shows her the way to care for people when no one else would.
