  • COMIC STRIP - MA3
  • A FLUTTERING CHANGE OF HEART (The Boy with a Catapult)
  • The narrator took Bodh Raj to the godown.
  • Where are the parents?
  • Must've gone in search of food.
  • Look! Little Ganga Mynahs!
  • Coo! Coo!
  • CLANG!
  • That's why there were so many broken wings, bits of straw and bird flesh...the kite must be ravaging the nest often!
  • Bodh Raj missed his aim three times. As he was about to aim a fourth time...
  • The kite has been coming here everyday.
  • SHRIEK!
  • Done by Ann Mary Joseph, 7 I
  • Bodh Raj was about to fight the kite, he believed in the power of his catapult. He aimed, though the narrator advised him against it, and handed the pebbles to the narrator.
  • Aim at the kite. Go on hitting it. Don't let it sit down.
  • Bodh aimed at the birds using his catapult. Before the narrator could stop him, there was a whizz, and Bodh Raj's stone hit the iron sheet.
  • The boys ran into the garage. Bodh Raj put the birds' nest on a beam.
  • The kite can't get in here.
  • ...Bodh Raj was about to do something the narrator never expected!
  • __________
  • The kite faced the wrath of Both Raj's catapult, while the birds saw his loving side. Bodh Raj gently brought down the nest.
  • The narrator's perspective had changed about Bodh Raj, how his behaviour changed from vindictiveness, to fierce protectiveness. The next day, Bodh Raj came with seeds, no catapult, no pebbles. The boys fed the chicks and spent hours watching their antics.
  • Bring some water, they are thirsty. We'll put it, drop by drop, into their mouths.
  • He's peeping into the nest. He might put the birds in his pocket, as usual.
  • Wait, what? Alright...I'll bring some water.
  • THE END
