- The Bee went out to gather nectar. It takes about 100 trips for 1 bee to make enough honey for a piece of toast.
- The Bee hive is filled with worker bees. They are producing honey for the Winter.
- A group of Bees enter into the hive. Between 20,000 and 80,000 bees can live in a hive.
- Bees use the honeycomb to make honey, store pollen, or hold the queen bees eggs. The Hexagon shape is the best structure for bees to hold things. If a large force is put on the comb it can spread making it more stable. The shape also does not leave any empty space.
- Honey is extremely important to a colony of bees. It is their food source. They stock up on honey over the warmer months because they can't get nectar during Winter.
- The Winter months are difficult on the hive.  Every bee huddles together and tries to stay warm. They eat the honey they made over the warmer months. The goal is to make sure the queen can restart the colony in Spring. In some species only the Queen bee survives and all the drone (male) and worker (female) bees die.
