  • Lepidus is a useless man not fit to rule one third of the Roman World!
  • Act IV Scene II
  • Cassius, can we speak privately
  • The newly formed Triumvirate are talking about who they need killed in order to keep peace after the death of Caesar. They all agree that Publius, Mark Antony's nephew, must die. 
  • Act IV Scene II
  • Brutus- You took bribes and that is wrong
  • Mark Antony describes to Octavius that Lepidus is a useless man and is not a good fit to be part of the Triumvirate. Antony compares Lepidus to his horse and views Lepidus like a slave while Octavius values Lepidus more.
  • Act IV Scene II
  • Portia has died. 
  • Brutus asks Cassius if they can speak privately to discuss what happened after Caesar's death.
  • Act IV Scene III
  • Meet me at Phillipi
  • Cassius and Brutus go into the tent for some privacy so the other soldiers do not see or hear them fighting. They then argue for awhile in the tent.
  • Cassius- You unrightfully disciplined one of my servants
  • Brutus tells Cassius that his wife Portia dies, and this changes the way Cassius feels and he begins to feel sorry for Brutus. Portia killed herself by swallowing hot coals.
  • This is news to me, I am so sorry
  • While Brutus is sleeping the ghost of Caesar comes into his room and startles him. He tells Brutus to meet him at Phillippi. Brutus was very frightened and confused
