- Hello there! I am Mr Drop and I am a water droplet.
- Today we will be learning about the water cycle. I, a water droplet, will go through each step of the cycle one by one.
- You don't see me now, I've changed because of evaporation! Evaporation is the process of water changing its state from a liquid to a gas. I absorb energy to change into water vapor, but I'm still water. In this process, I cool the surrounding environment.
- Now I'm inside a cloud! Clouds are formed by a process called condensation. Condensation is when water changes its state again from a gas to a liquid. It has a warming effect since it releases heat.
- The next part of the cycle is precipitation, in which I come down in the atmosphere as either a liquid or a solid, in the form of snow, rain, or hail.
- Next is Collection. During collection, I, along with other water droplets, flow off to a stream or river where we get collected.
- And there you have it, the water cycle! I go through this cycle again and again: evaporation, condensation, precipitation and finally collection, no new water ever enters the Earth.
