- When Izanami was giving birth to the Fire Kami, she was fatally burned and lay dying, while Izanagi cried due to the loss of his wife his tears created more Kami
- Izanagi went to the underworld where Izanami was and Izanami promised she would ask the underworld Kami to let her out, but made him promise not to look at her face
- Izanagi eventually decieded to look at Izanami's, he shone a light on her and was horrified, she was rotting, he then ran away, and Izanami chased after him screaming.
- Izanagi made it back to the land of the living and then trapped Izanami inside the underworld, Izanami made threats to Izanagi such as killing 1000 people a day, so Izanagi now creates 1,500 people a day
- Izanagi went to have a bath to purify himself of the dead, when he washed his left eye the Kami of the sun was created, Amaterasu, then he washed his right eye and the Kami of the moon was created Tsukiyomi. He washed his nose and created Susanoo, the Kami of the sea and storms
- Amaterasu then became the ancestor for all Japanese Emperor's, who used that for their power.
