- Once there was this girl named Rebecca. When she was younger, Rebecca's grandmother used to tell her and her sisters the story of Briar Rose which she claimed was about her.

- After many years Gemma (the grandmother) became very sick and Rebecca and her sisters had to put her in a nursing home. While in the nursing home, Gemma would randomly blurt out parts of the Briar Rose story and once again claim that she was Briar Rose, and that she was a princess.
- A few months later Gemma passed away and it crushed Rebecca. Not only because she no longer had her grandmother in her life, but because she would never be able to hear the Briar Rose story from her grandmother again.So she made it her goal to get to the bottom of the Briar Rose story, and to go back to where her grandma grew up to figure this all out.

- Rebecca hops on a plane, and heads for Poland to find out all about her grandmothers past life, because her grandmother immigated from poland after WW2. She also has arrangements for a woman named Magda to escort her along the way of her journey.
- When Rebecca gets to Poland, she goes to a woman named Magda who was asked to help her by Rebecca's boss. Magda takes her to meet with her first source she hopes will give her any information on her grandmother. To Rebecca's surprise, he is very helpful. The man she met with is named Josef Potocki, he was the owner of a ring that was found in the possessions of Gemma, and she thought he might even be her grandfather.
