- Stop bullying her!
- Irony is a contrast of how things really are and how they seem. This is an example of dramatic irony because the character, searching for the answer, missed the furries and comes to a conclusion that they don't exist. (but audience knows)
- Foreshadowing
- An idiom is a sentence that has a meaning different than its literal meaning. This is an example of an idiom because the jester is hesitating and not getting to the point so the guy sitting on the throne says, "Stop beating around the bush," which really means, "Get to the point."
- Inference
- She crossed the road like Regina George.
- Motivation is the reason a character has for behaving or acting in a particular way. This is an example of a character's motivation because her personal motivation made her look out for her younger sister.
- Allusion
- Foreshadowing is when hints are used to suggest what may happen later on in a story. This is an example of foreshadowing because the character, who is running with music blasting and carelessly crossing roads, can be predicted to receive consequences from doing this.
- An inference is an educated guess based on evidence and reasoning. This is an example of an inference because you can infer that the character doesn't like the food because of his reaction.
- An allusion is a brief but purposeful reference to a person, place, event, or media. This is an example of an allusion because the character is referenced as a particular character from a movie because of the way she did something.
