  • That's when I heard something that scared me more than the fastest fastball and something that would embarrass me more than missing the easiest catch.
  • Coach
  • As I ran into the dugout from warm-ups I heard a thundering sound that came from the crowd, it said, "THERE'S MY GRANDDAUGHTER!" Grandma is at the game!
  • As I sank deeper into the dugout I said, "please don't say my name!"
  • This book is dedicated to the one and only Grandma Jean, whose larger than life personality, and booming loud voice, may have fueled the inspiration for this story- just a little. Written by a 6th grade Bridgette (and Dad) and inspired by Nicole's Tee-Ball, "Homerun." This book exemplifies Grandma's love for her family and baseball. May this memory live on forever.
  • We were the visiting team so got up first and since I was batting third, I knew I'd be up in the first inning. Grandma would see me bat in front of all of my friends!
  • Genevieve Pecoraro March 23, 1929- April 3, 2015 "And when we're gone, these memories will bring grateful, loving tears, to all whose lives were touched, by the dash between our years."
  • As Michelle leadoff the inning I tried to peak into the crowd to see where Grandma was standing. Hopefully she would get a soda and not see me bat.
  • Michelle singled and Krissy walked. Finally it was my turn. As I walked to the plate there was no stopping her. All you could hear throughout the ballpark was the echoing sound of, "My Granddaughter is up!"
  • I was so embarrassed I knew I had to do something great otherwise, I would get teased forever. Then I heard her voice say, "hit that ball!"
  • I did, as hard as I could. It sailed farther than it ever did before. I hit my first homerun ever!
  • I could still hear my grandma cheering me on and it made me feel great. Her rooting for me made me try harder.
  • At the end of the game I hugged her and asked, "When could you come and see me again?"
  • Because it's good having Grandma at the game!
  • Hers 3 Other 2
  • THE END
