  • "Tell -Tale-Heart" By:Edgar Allan PoeExposition- The exposition of this story is inside/outside the old man's house and the characters are the old man, and Edgar Allan Poe.
  • Rising Action- The seven nights leading up to the day he kills the old man. The first one is when he acts really nice to the old man and talks to him and acts friendly. The second one is when he starts to spy on him and makes him a little paranoid. The next is when he goes into his room and scares him a lot. The problem is that he doesn't know how to kill him.
  • Climax- When the narrator murders the old man. He throws the old man on the floor on his bedroom and suffocates him with his mattress. He then hides the body but gets anxious and waits a while.
  • Falling action- When the narrator hears the old man's heartbeat even though he is dead. The police are talking to the narrator. As they are talking to him he hears the beating of the dead man's heart getting louder and louder.
  • Resolution- The resolution of the story comes when the narrator convinced himself that the old man's heartbeat is audible to everyone else and will eventually point out as a murder. He ends up confessing everything to the police. He even leads them yo where the hidden body was.
  • Symbolism- Symbolism in this story is the bed. They kept talking about the bed because that is where the old man was most of the time and that is where he died and where he slept. It was his bed so he of course slept their and did a lot their during the story.
