  • In "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street" by Rod Serling, one of the main themes is "Violence isn't always the answer" and here's evidence to support it. The main theme of this story is that violence isn't always the answer because when Les Goodman's car started up every one started harassing and mobbing him. That evidence supports my theme because they could've figured it out with their words and helped each other out. Another piece of evidence is when Charlie's house lights turned on they all started arguing with each other. This backs up my theme because they don't trust each other and are only defending themselves. My last piece of evidence that supports my theme is that when they all saw a suspicious figure at the end of the street Charlie got the shotgun and shot the figure who was innocent. This supports my theme because they come too quick to harm and hurt each other. Those are my three pieces of evidence that support my Monster are Due on Maple Street theme.
