  • From the two pieces of egg came the Father of Heaven, Uranus, and the Mother of Earth, Gaia, with Love, or Eros, between them. This Love allowed Gaia to give birth to the beautiful land.

  • Look, fire! This should make you better than those animals. Zeus is gonna be so proud of me.
  • Epimetheus created animals, giving them great gifts like wings and swiftness. Prometheus was to make man, but was upset that Epimetheus was giving creatures these great gifts.
  • Prometheus made man to look like the Gods. He them made them to stand upright, to look towards the sky, but he still felt like they were missing something to make them great.
  • So Prometheus brought fire from the sun to give to man in order for them to prosper.

  • Zeus was angry with Prometheus because he felt that man was now powerful enough to challenge the gods.

  • Zeus also punished Prometheus by chaining him to a rock on Mount Caucasus, where he was tormented by a vulture eating his liver for eternity.

  • Some stories say Herecles thought that freeing Prometheus would be the best thing man could ever do.
  • With his great strength, Herecles killed the vulture and broke the chains that bound Prometheus.
  • Thus ends the Greek creation myth.
