- Oh, sorry.
- When Ms. Strangworth leaves the grocery store, she looks down to see Mr. and Mrs. Crane's baby. Mrs. Crane explaines how she is worried about her daughter being slow, but Ms. Strangeworth reassures her that every child has a different pace .
- I just feel my princess is a bit slow Ms. Strangeworth.

- Nonsense, every baby is different Mrs. Crane.
- When Ms. Strangeworth enters her home she decides to refrain from eating and "instead went into the light, lovely sitting room which still glowed from the hands of her mother" (personification) this indicates that Ms. Strangeworth is living in a place filled with items of heritage and things passed down by former family. She decides to fill her time by writing her anonymous insulting letters to people across town. So, she sits down and starts thinking about who to write to, one of them being Mr and Mrs. Crane and their baby.
- Time to write my special letters
- Hmm, who should I write to?
- Oh yes, maybe to the Crane's stupid child.
