  • Falling Hopes
  • We are so hungry, we have no food and no water and we are freezing cold
  • I am so sorry, we got run out of every state we have been in. We do not have any clothes or food or water.
  • On August 27, 1776, the American and British armies met in Brooklyn, New York. The Americans were so inexperienced, they were no match to the British. 2 days of fighting went by and the British had only lost 377 men while the Americans had lost 1,407.
  • Second Thoughts

  • What if we don't make it?

  • They still began walking. The temperatures started to get very very cold. They were struggling by the minutes and had no hope left. There was no food, water, and their clothes were very very thin.
  • People of the Continental Army started to begin doubting themselves. They thought that anyone who voluntarily risked their lives to serve in the Continental Amry had to be crazy.
  • As they went on through Pennsylvania, they realized that they don't have much. They have no clothes and they haven't eaten in days. This is when Washington wrote to his brother. Otherwise. "I think the game will be pretty well up".
  • We are so tired and so cold, we have barely any clothes and little food.
